Introduction:
Aldegheri Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a prestigious red wine crafted from select hillside vineyards in the historic Valpolicella region. After hand-harvesting and natural drying of the grapes, the wine undergoes extended aging in large oak barrels and barriques, resulting in a deeply complex and elegant expression of Amarone tradition.
Tasting Notes:
-
Nose: Intense tertiary aromas of oak and walnut, followed by ripe notes of blueberry and morello cherry.
-
Palate: Full-bodied with excellent structure, showcasing rich flavors of dark cherry, baking spice, and a firm tannic finish. The aftertaste lingers with notes of cherry and morello cherry.
Winemaker’s Notes:
Produced from Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and other native grapes grown on limestone and marl-rich soils, this wine is made using the appassimento method, where grapes are dried post-harvest to concentrate flavor. Fermented in February and aged over three years in oak, with a portion in barriques, this Amarone reveals a perfect balance of depth, intensity, and refinement.
Pairing Suggestions:
Pairs excellently with roasts, game, and aged or spicy cheeses. For best enjoyment, decant or uncork a few hours prior to serving.
