Located in the heart of the Okanagan Valley, between Osoyoos and Oliver, BC, Burrowing Owl Estate Winery benefits from the region’s ideal climate and sunny, dry hills, which are located within the same latitude (42º – 50º) as some of the world’s most renowned wine regions, such as France, Germany, Northern Italy, and Spain. It’s no surprise that wine experts are now turning their attention to BC’s Okanagan Valley, as it continues to produce exceptional wines.

A History of Excellence Since 1997
Burrowing Owl’s vineyards are situated in prime positions in the valley, with grapes from these sites having already garnered international acclaim. The winery started producing wine in 1997, focusing on four grape varieties from the 16 cultivated at their vineyards. The initial focus was on Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot for reds, and Chardonnay and Pinot Gris for whites. Over time, they expanded their offerings with Cabernet Franc in 1998, Pinot Noir in 1999, and Syrah in 2000. Currently, the winery produces around 45,000 cases annually.

Diverse Vineyards Across the Valley
The vineyards span 210 acres across three locations: Black Sage, Osoyoos, and Keremeos. The Black Sage site, the original 145-acre plot, produces a mix of red and white varietals, while the 54-acre Osoyoos site grows Bordeaux varietals and Syrah on the eastern slopes above Osoyoos Lake. The 11-acre Keremeos vineyard specializes in Sauvignon Blanc from the Similkameen Valley.
