About the The Prisoner Saldo Zinfandel 750 mL

Introduction:
The Prisoner Saldo Zinfandel is a beautifully balanced wine crafted from Zinfandel grapes carefully harvested from vineyards in California’s North Coast and Central Valley. Through long-standing relationships with grower partners, many of whom have been working with the winery for generations, The Prisoner ensures that only the best quality grapes are sourced. The wine is fermented on skins for texture, structure, and color, and aged for 10 months in American oak barrels, resulting in a juicy, spice-driven Zinfandel that pairs wonderfully with bold flavors.

Tasting Notes:

  • Aromas: Blackberries, black currants, pepper spice, dark chocolate, and fig paste
  • Flavour: Vibrant fruit, spice, with a hint of chocolate
  • Finish: Bold and flavorful, with a smooth, lingering finish

Pairing Suggestions:
Chef Brett recommends pairing Saldo Zinfandel with BBQ baby back ribs or five-spice crusted ahi tuna. This Zinfandel is also a great match with Mexican cuisine, grilled meats, or hearty stews.
