Tasting Notes:
Villa Antinori Rosso is ruby red in color. The nose is intense and intriguing, offering notes of red fruit, especially cherries and currants, together with hints of spices, vanilla, and hazelnuts. The palate is mouth-filling and pleasantly sapid, with lively freshness and supple tannins, leading to a persistent finish.
Winemaker’s Notes:
First crafted in 1928, Villa Antinori Rosso is the Antinori family’s signature wine, representing their history and identity. The wine is produced from grapes grown, matured, and harvested from the family’s Tuscan estates, then fermented and aged in the Antinori family cellars. The blend includes Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, aged in a combination of French, Hungarian, and American oak barrels for 12 months, followed by additional bottle aging to enhance complexity and depth.
Food Pairing:
This Tuscan red pairs well with a variety of dishes, including grilled meats, pasta with tomato-based sauces, and aged cheeses. Its balanced acidity and vibrant fruit profile complement dishes like roasted lamb, spaghetti Bolognese, or a selection of Tuscan pecorino cheeses.
